QuadraDigger is a free browser-based rotating block puzzle game inspired by the original Game Boy handheld console. Fill the space between the dirt to chain massive explosions and dig your way to the center of the Earth! Compete with players worldwide for the top ranking on scoreboards for the day, the week, the month, or all-time.
Adorned with barely 8-bit retro graphics and sound, QuadraDigger plays in a virtual handheld device complete with buttons, a directional pad, and a few buttons for social media connectivity.
QuadraDigger was our lead programmer Simon’s project to learn HTML5. It works on a variety of browsers and devices so far, but if you find any problems with it, please let us know!
Unfortunately, a limitation in HTML5 prevents music from playing in most mobile browsers, but we have a native mobile version currently in development, so stay tuned!
Baroque Creations is proud to officially release our latest project: QuadraDigger. This free block-stacking puzzle game features Game Boy-inspired graphics and sound and can be played on almost any HTML5-capable browser*.
You need to dig a hole to reach the center of the Earth! Don’t ask why, it’s not important! Rotate and arrange the blocks to fill the gaps in the dirt and blast your way down. Clearing more blocks at once creates bigger explosions and more points. The game looks familiar, but you will quickly find that it behaves in unexpected ways:
Blocks do not fall on their own, rather, the ground moves up.
Blocks can be placed on walls and ceilings, not just on the ground.
Explosions cause blocks above to fall and collapse into different shapes.
Filling the spaces between dirt blocks triggers an explosion even if it doesn’t span the entire width of the well.
Blocks can be moved upward.
Give it a try! Blow some stuff up! Betcha can’t make it all the way to the bottom!
*Tested in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. Music is currently non-functional on mobile devices due to a limitation in HTML5 for mobile browsers.
Hey, folks. Been moving internationally and traveling a bunch, which means there’s not much time to devote to game development. So I started a fun, small-scale project just for the Spring. Introducing, QuadraDigger!
QuadraDigger is a Gameboy Tetris-inspired, browser-based HTML5 game. So far, it runs great in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, as well as mobile browsers! Gameplay is complete. Once some social media features are in, the game will be ready for release.
